Everyone knows that children should be encouraged to participate in physical activity, but sometimes, as a parent, it’s hard to know how much and why. Australian guidelines recommend that preschoolers be active for at least three hours every day. Coach Anthony from Soccajoeys Eastern Sydney says physical activity doesn’t have to be done all at once, “it’s great to spread it out over small blocks of time throughout the day.”
At Soccajoeys we know the benefits of physical activity for your child are endless. Activities like Soccajoeys indoor soccer classes help to build strong bones and muscles and reduce the risk of becoming overweight or developing heart disease or type-2 diabetes. But the benefits aren’t just physical. Making active choices also helps for child’s overall well-being and happiness. Coach Anthony says it’s so great to see the players develop, “kids become more confident and learn to share and cooperate with each other.”
Encouraging three hours of physical activity every day for your child not only helps to build healthy lifestyle habits, it can also be heaps of fun! Just ask any of our Soccajoeys players or coaches!
