After the holiday period it can be hard to get back into the swing of things. As hard as it is as for an adult to get back into the routine of a healthy and active lifestyle, it can be even harder for kids. But there are a few easy steps you can take to make the transition out of vacation mode as smooth as possible.

The first thing to implement is an early bed time. It can be a struggle in the beginning but the results are worth it. A well-rested child makes for a healthy and active child. This is one of the most effective way to get into a routine.

Secondly, start to eat right again. Now that most of the Christmas sweets are out of the house, it’s important to get back into the habit of getting your child to eat healthy meals and snacks.  After the first few days of swapping the Christmas pudding for a fruit salad, you’ll be right back into the swing of making healthy nutritional choices for your child.

Lastly, get active. Get your child excited about starting up the sports and activities they love.  It gives them something to look forward to throughout the week and helps them get into the routine of participating in regular physical activity.

Soccajoeys Term 1, 2015 classes start soon. Register today to secure your child’s place and begin 2015 with a healthy and active lifestyle!
