As we head into the holiday season and schedules get busier and busier, it can be easy to lose sight of your child’s nutrition. Amidst the chaos of holiday parties, the end of the school year and Christmas shopping it’s hard to find time to make sure your kids eat right. But living a healthy active lifestyle should be a year round priority, so here are some simple tips to help you keep your child’s nutrition on the right track.

Preparation is key. Each time you do your shopping, try chopping vegetables and portioning them right away. Having a few days worth of carrots and celery sticks in zip lock bags or Tupperware containers makes grabbing a healthy snack on the go all the easier. You can do the same thing with nuts and dried fruit. You can also get your kids involved. Kids get excited to take part in the cooking process, anything from washing vegetables to gathering ingredients, is great way get them involved in making healthy food choices.

If you eat healthy, they eat healthy. Making time to prepare a balanced healthy meal for yourself will trickle down to your children. By setting a good example, your children will learn the importance of healthy kids nutrition.

Soccajoeys proudly promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for children through our kids soccer programs.
